Isn't the weather pretty good at the minute? Apart from the occasional rain, it hasn't been too bad here in Northern Ireland. I love the summertime, but it always seems to go by far too quickly!
Anyway, the challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey at the minute is to use anything that you might find in the sky!! I think it's OK to be imaginative ; )
I made this little card. It didn't take too long and was quite simple to do.
- Stamps - PTI Boy Basics Frog Hop and matching die
- CS - SU River Rock, Whisper White
- Paper - My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Life of the Party
- Ink - SU Mellow Moss
Thought for the Week - Recently I have been doing an in-depth study of the life and circumstances of the wonderful character of Joseph. Most people have heard of Joseph, but there is more to him than his colourful coat! There are some amazing lessons we can learn from his life (which is what we're supposed to do with what we read in the Bible - learn from it 2 Timothy 3:16).
In Genesis ch 37 Joseph's own brothers turned against him and conspired all manner of terrible things against him - and for what reason? Plain old jealousy. Now, admittedly, Joseph's father, Jacob, had a lot to do with this, because he showed favouritism among his children by giving Joseph the special coat and making it known that he loved Joseph more than the rest of his sons. It is never right to have favourites among our children. They are all special blessings from the Lord and they are all different in their own way, but we should love each one of them with totally the same depth and intensity. So, yes, Jacob was in the wrong. However, that is no excuse for how Joseph's brothers treated him. Their anger should have been vented at Jacob, not at Joseph, because it wasn't his fault. Anyway, his brothers couldn't even speak in a civil way to Joseph and they told lies about him. Sometimes, this can happen among families and people can be very hurt, all because of jealousy. It is more hurtful when we are on the receiving end of mistreatment from someone in our family, because these are the people we expect to love us most. Jealousy is a dreadful thing and it can cause terrible harm to the people who are the victims of it. When someone is jealous of us and tries to do what they can, somtimes subtly, to harm us, how should we react? Or if we feel jealous about another person, how should we deal with it? Check in again on my next post and we'll look at what Joseph did and how he reacted.
Thanks for reading!
