Stella and Rose papers

I have a couple of cards for a couple of challenges and I'm hoping I have them in on time!  I had to take the photos at night and not in natural light so they may not show up the best!
This one is for The Colour Combo and also for the Waltzingmouse Challenge using this sketch -
I didn't have the exact colours (Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade and Chocolate Chip) but this is the closest I could get.

The gorgeous papers are Stella and Rose 'Gertie' from My Mind's Eye and the sweet sentiment is Waltzingmouse Stamps set 'Blessed by You'.

I also managed to make this card for a girl in work whose birthday it is soon.  It's for the Paper Players Challenge here.

I really enjoyed making this card from the above sketch - great ideas!  Again I used Stella & Rose papers, this time 'Mabel'.  Number and butterfly dies, and the sentiment, are from My Favorite Things, bought here. I love cotton lace and this one is from The Ribbon Girl.
Thanks for looking!

Tickled Pink!

Hi!  Sorry for not being here for a while, but after a long summer off work (school) with lots of free time to blog I am now back to work and haven't as much spare time.  So I'm only getting around now to posting after three weeks ; )
Anyway, this little card was made for a guy in work and his wife who had a little baby girl recently.  I hope it fits into the following challenges:

This little washing line stamp is from Unity Stamps and the sentiments are both Papertrey Ink.  These papers are from My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy, Tickled Pink.

So now, on to the post I promised three weeks ago for a study in the beautiful book of Psalms.

PSALM 1: to be a child of God means to have loads of blessings bestowed on us every day.  In these verses we some of the blessings we have as Christians.
  1. We are indeed 'blessed' (happy)
  2. Our joy should be in studying, following and living out God's word
  3. We are fruitful in that we can do a work for Him and help to bring peace and encouragement to the lives of other people too
  4. Prosperous - this doesn't necessarily mean by the world's standards (ie lots of money and property); rather, we have riches that the world couldn't even comprehend - we have peace in our hearts, we have a constant joy in knowing that we have a home in heaven and knowing that whatever difficulty or trial comes our way, we can NEVER be separated from the love and salvation of God
  5. Wherever we go or whatever we do, the Lord can see us and is with us; He knows the path that we have just taken and, better still, He knows the path ahead of us, even when we don't know it.
The contrast here is between those who are saved and those who aren't.  The Christian should ask him/herself where and when they are happiest and most comfortable - when in the company of the unsaved or when they are with God's own people, our brothers and sisters in Christ?  If we are happier being with the unsaved we need to ask ourselves why and consider the true state of our hearts before God.
Thanks for being here and may the Lord bless you today!

Encouragement for the week ahead!

Hi there!  I hope you, my followers and any other readers, are doing well.  Thank you for keeping up to date with my posts and also a big thank you to those who take the time to comment.  From next week, I am going to start a weekly word of encouragement using the lovely book of Psalms in the Bible through my Thought for the Week.  At times, there are events that come across our paths that can discourage us in our daily life and in those periods it is good to go somewhere for sweet words of encouragement - and what better place to go to than the Psalms.  The majority of the Psalms were written by king David and there is no one in the Bible who needed strength and encouragement more than him.  He was constantly being attacked physically, verbally and spiritually from enemies all around him, even some from his own family, which must have been very distressing for him.  And where did he go to for help and strength?  To his Heavenly Father.  If we follow David's example that is where we will go too which is why I want to take a few pearls and gems from the book of Psalms on a weekly basis to try to help you too as we make our way through this pilgrim life to the beautiful celestial city.

Firstly, I'd like to show you a card I made for a lady who wanted to give it to a young girl who is going off to University soon.  I'm entering it in the Clearlyistamp Challenge which is to use patterned  paper.  Oh!  I nearly forgot to tell you...I won a prize for entering this challenge last week!  I quite like decorating the inside of my cards now too as long as it's not too much or too fussy so here is the outside and inside of the card.

The stamp is from My Favorite Things, coloured with Copics and the little sentiments are both from Clear
Dollar Stamps and ever so cute, I think.
The paper is Basic Grey's new Out of Print which has loads of different patterns with tiny background newspaper print on them.  I also used a matching brad.

Thanks for looking and please check in again next week as we start our journey of encouragement together!
