Papertake challenge

This is a quick post to show you a card I did for the popular Papertake Challenge which closes soon. We can use whatever we want for this card with the option of using a punch, so here's my card.

Once again, I have used my ever faithful My Mind's Eye papers!  The stamps are from Clear Dollar Stamps (love these) and the little felt butterflies were die cut from a MFT die.
Have to go now, but I'll be back soon with my Thought for the Week.

New Challenges...and giveaway reminder!

Hi all!  I've some new cards to show you today and I'm really pleased with the way they have turned out because I have used a photo editing thing(!) to improve the presentation of them.

First up is this one, Merry Christmas, for the Clean and Simple Challenge #160.

Wow!  Don't you just love what the editing has done to the pic?  All snowy and frosty looking!  The stamp is MFT and the papers are, believe it or not, My Mind's Eye!  The sentiment is PTI Merry little Christmas.
Next up is this one, Thankful for you, for a total of three challenges -

And then finally, is this little tag/card for my friend who invited us up to her house for a birthday celebration.  It's for the Waltzing Mouse Stamps #67 challenge.

Unfortunately, the text is a bit wonky, but it's handmade and that means it doesn't have to be perfect!

In my last post, I asked you to mention if you like reading my Thought for the Week and if it helps or encourages you.  If you add a comment about this I will choose a random winner to receive a gift (haven't decided what yet, it'll be a surprise!).  I'll choose on sat 8 Oct 2011 by 12 noon.

Thanks for looking!

Today I have two separate cards for two separate challenges.  The first is a Christmas card based on this sketch from Papertake Weekly.  I used My Mind's Eye papers (again!) and a cute little (retired) Stampin' Up! stamp I got years ago.

Then I also made this card for a very dear friend of mine, Doris, who isn't too well at the minute.  It's a Get well soon, Thank you for the gift and for being a special friend card, all rolled into one!  The papers are ... guess what!  Yes, how did you know ... My Mind's Eye (Lost and found, Blush collection)!  I used this sketch over at Clearly I Stamp for this card.

I really love the different shades of pink in this collection - gorgeous!  The butterfly is a MFT die and the stamp of the bird cage is My Mind's Eye Blush to match the papers and the sentiment stamp is Clear Dollar Stamps. The lace is from The Ribbon Girl.

Hope you like these cards today!

Now, on to this week's Thought for the Week (I wonder does anybody actually read these?  If so, I hope they are a blessing and source of encouragement to you.  Actually, if you leave a comment to say if you like these weekly thoughts, I'll randomly pick a winner to receive a small gift by Saturday 8 October 2011 @ 12 noon GMT).
Psalm 2.  This is the first of the Messianic Psalms prophesying the suffering and glory of the coming Saviour.  Originally salvation was especially for the chosen people of God, the Jews; but thankfully for those of us who are not Jews there is also eternal hope because we read in this Psalm that He will save the 'heathen' (also called Gentiles).  Pop over to Acts 4:24-28 to read about this.  Also in this Psalm God warns people to be wise and learn, to serve the Lord reverently and to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour while they are still able to.  Then they will be truly blessed because such is the people who put their trust in Him.  What a blessing to know that salvation has been completed for all those, Jews and Gentiles, who will repent of their sin and turn to the Saviour for salvation.  He will never turn anyone away who comes to Him (John 6:37).
God bless you this week!
