Prickley Pear

Today I have a card to show you that I'm entering into 2 challenges -
I just got these new stamps and matching dies and couldn't wait to get started!  I do so love clear stamps and matching dies...they are my favourite way to stamp!

Thought for the Week.
Psalm 9.  Verse 12 - 'He forgetteth not the cry of the humble'.  Wonderful news for the Christian!  No matter that we feel that the Lord has forgotten us, especially in our time of great need; His Word is always true and we can always depend on the Lord's great promises.  He will not forget us when we pray and cry to Him.  The Lord loves to hear us pray and if our hearts are right before Him, He will remember us and answer our prayers.  So do not despair...He is listening to us and will answer in His perfect time.

WMS Sketch Challenge #84

I just got this stamp set last week and it seemed just the right thing for this Sketch Challenge over at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

WMS Sketches_MS font_separate

The card isn't for any special occasion, yet, but I'm sure I'll find a reason to give it to my daughter somewhere along the line!

WMS Blog Party!

I have never joined in with a Blog Party before so I'm not completely sure how it works, but I'll have a go with this one over at Waltzingmouse.  The Theme is SPRING, one of my most favourite times of the year ; )  I love to see the brighter nights and mornings and, of course, the better weather (hopefully!) and just the lovely fresh feeling of new life and hope.  I love the sentiment on this card.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to put all your faith in a loving God who knows the future and who has a great plan for each one of His children?  I'm glad I don't have to worry about the future anymore...the Lord already knows all about it, and whatever lies ahead, He will give grace and strength to get through.

Five challenges and three cards

Hi!  You can always tell when I'm off work, because I have more time to craft and now is one of those times!

I have three cards today, incorporating five challenges.

First is this one for A Passion for Papertrey and the challenge is to use stripes:

I used PTI's Love Lives Here die and stamp set.  I love to use Kraft coloured card and I think it has a nice rustic look about it.

Secondly, this card, which is for two challenges -

And finally this card for the following two challenges here:

This card was made using Little Claire stamps.

Thought for the Week.
Psalm 8.  This Psalm describes David's amazement that the Lord would have any time for sinful man.  When we think of the vastness of heaven and all of God's creation, it is amazing to think that He knows even the very number of hairs on our head.  He thinks about each one of us always and we are, as individuals, very precious to Him.  He has time to listen to His children speaking to Him in prayer and He loves it when we draw near to Him.  It is the Father's pleasure to answer our prayers when we pray in His will.  Today, if you are feeling isolated and unloved, remember that even though the Lord has so much to look after, His priority is His people.  If you are not yet a saved child of God, then simply come to Him and put your trust in Him for He will never fail you.

Dotty aqua birdie

This card was made for the Less is More Challenge which is to produce a clean and simple card using the colour AQUA.  This is not a colour I would normally reach for first but I do think it went well on this paper-pieced bird.  The papers are from Papertrey Ink, the base card is from Little Claire Designs and the stamps are from Purple Onion Designs (these stamps are from USA but the postage is only about £6.00 / $10).  You can't really see it clearly from the photo but the little bird's beak, feathery tail and legs are coloured with glittery Spica pens and its eye is a black pearl (3mm) to give it a more 3D effect.

Thought for the Week
Psalm 7.  'Oh LORD my God, in Thee do I put my trust' - I remember at Christmastime watching Miracle on 34th Street with my daughter and husband and this was what the lawyer brought out at the end of the film; on the dollar bill it said 'In God we trust'.  How many people say this but do not actually mean it?  If we trust in God, that means for the small things as well as the big.  I trust in the Lord for every aspect of my life and if, sometimes, I forget to, I ask Him to help me trust Him more.  Some people trust in their wealth, popularity or intelligence, but at the end of the day, these things will all fail us.  But thankfully, God will never fail His people.  I trust in Him for salvation and I will trust Him to take care of me for the rest of my life, no matter how long or short a time that may be; and I trust Him to finally take me to heaven someday to be with Him for ever.  Search out your own heart today - what are you trusting in?

Running late!

Hi!  I couldn't get these cards photographed because of the poor light recently, so I just managed to get them photographed just now in time for the two Challenges tomorrow.

First up is for the weekly Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge -

Secondly is this really simple card for the Challenge at Less is More -

As I've said before, I love using lace on my cards and here I have added the tiniest of self-adhesive pearls to coordinate with the inked 'Hello'.

I'll be back soon with Thought for the Week!  I have to go and dust first!!!
