Wedding card

Hello friends!  This evening I have a card to show you that I made for my daughter's friend who is getting married next week.

This is the inside of the card along with the bookmark.

I used my favourite lovely papers from MME and also some vellum paper for the little envelope on the front of the card.  I wanted the bride to be able to use the bookmark so I didn't want to permanently attach it to the card.  The tag is a new smaller version of the original tag by Tim Holtz and it is perfect to add to cards.  These MME papers are great because with the designs already on the paper there is very little to do but cut and stick!
I stamped the sentiment on the inside using WMS stamps.  By the way, WMS are bringing out new stamps soon, a mini size, so look out for those here.  There are some sneak peeks being shown at the minute.  The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I see I have another two new followers so welcome to both of you and thank you for joining me!

I made this card for a friend in work (who, by the way, is called Mrs McCarthy!!) and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, which I planned to enter into the challenge today, but lo and behold! I'm too late! Oh well, not to worry, hopefully you'll like it anyway!  It's quite a clean and simple card.  I used Waltzingmouse Stamps for this card.  By the way, WMS will be releasing some new stamps next week so check out Claire's blog for the sneak previews.  She says that she'll be doing some mini stamp sets this time around.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch and colours

Today's post is a card I have made for another girl in work who is also losing weight and I'd like to encourage her!  I am entering this one into two challenges:

My card uses a Mo Manning Digi stamp (found here) called 'Hoping' and I have coloured it with Promarkers.  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Less is More - Shiny

Hi, this will be very quick as I have to go and put the dinner on and then head out for the evening!  This card was whipped up in super fast time and it is for a friend of mine in work who is on a diet and doing really well and I wanted to cheer her on!  I am entering this into three challenges:

I used my faithful washi tape for this!
Thanks for looking!

We will miss you

This is my second post for today, simply because I needed to make a card for a friend and I might as well enter it into a challenge while I'm at it!  This is for a lovely lady who is leaving a certain post in her work and we'll probably not see as much of her so I wanted to let her know she'll be missed.
The little girl image is another By Lori Designs - my first crack at using a digi stamp.  It was a lot easier than I thought!
I'm entering this into the WMS Sketch Challenge which ends tomorrow (hence the rush!).

Thanks for looking and thank you to all those who have recently left me some lovely comments - these are always appreciated!

Sketch Saturday #211 and Passion for Promarkers #153

Hi again and welcome to Sue, my new follower!  I have another card for you today which I made following the sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge and also taking the theme from Passion for Promarkers which is to use at least three layers.  Sometimes I find sketches really difficult and then at other times I love them because they get my imagination spurred on!  Last year I bought quite a lot of Copic Ciao markers because I love the look of them when they are used to colour in lovely images, but unfortunately, I just couldn't get the hang of I sold them all.  Then I discovered Promarkers and find them so much easier to use...I think it's the fact that the nib is quite solid whereas the Copics are more brushlike.  Anyway, the Promarkers are great and I got this cute little image the other day and couldn't wait to colour her in.  This image is by Lori Boyd called 'Lollipops'.  What I decided to do was to match up my paper pads (My Mind's Eye - Blink of an Eye) with the Promarkers so that I wouldn't have to keep trying to remember which colours go with which paper and I wrote them on the back and now I know exactly what colours match.  I had to practise a few times how to colour and blend properly but I am really pleased with the result here.

Thanks for looking!

Regally Royal

Hello everybody and especially to my faithful followers!
Today I have a little card to share with you which I'm entering over at Simply Stamping Challenge (using Stampin' Up! Products with the theme of getting 'Regally Royal')and also at Dynamic Duos, which is to use Stampin' Up! colours Regal Rose and Basic Grey.   I have chosen to use a cute SU! stamp which I've never inked up before - 'queen for a day' - from a retired 2006 set called 'Tagger's Dozen'.  I'll use it as a birthday card for a young girl, I think.  The corner dies are from My Favourite Things, ink is Regal Rose and Basic Grey, card is Regal Rose, the centre shape was cut out using a nestabilities label die with a little border from WMS and I added a little strip of my now favourite product, washi tape!  The little rhinestones on the crown are also Stampin' Up!.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a good week!

With a flourish!

Today's card I have for you is for the Challenge at Less is More and this week it is a One-Layer Card.  Although these are quick and easy to do, I find them quite difficult because I like to add a couple of layers of paper or card!  I also used the two colours, Regal Rose and Basic Grey, from yesterday's blog post, although I'm not sure you can see the sentiment clearly.
The inks are SU! and the two sentiments are from Tim Holtz.  I like the words on the sentiment as I feel they are very true!

God bless!

No.1 Dad!

Hi all!  Hope the weather is good wherever you are today!
Today's card is one I have just made for my children to give to their Dad for Father's Day which here in the UK will be this Sunday.  I have no fears that he will accidentally stumble upon my blog so I can post it now but just in case he did, I'd like him to know that we think the world of him!  I could go on and on about what a wonderful husband he is but he's also an exceptional father who always puts his family first.  He shows us consistent love and care and he is wiser than anyone else I know.  In fact, I can honestly say that he is just amazing!  (I think he'd be OK with all this being public knowledge!!!).
The images are from Tim Holtz and the sentiments are from WMS.
I am entering this into the challenge at Papertake Weekly, where anything goes with the option of Father's Day.

God bless!

Baby boom!

Hi there!  We have had a bit of a baby boom in church recently and the new babies are almost all boys!  We have had a Noah, a Jonah, an Elijah and a Henry!!  Here are two cards I made for the last two and I am entering them into Die-Ing for A Challenge this month.  The challenge is to use 'dies' from the Dies to Die For store.  I get loads of my supplies from Tracy here and her service is excellent.  I have been shopping with her for ages now and have never had a problem.

The alphabet stamps are Doodlebug and the little Congrats sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, a company here in Northern Ireland.

I also have a sweet little card I made for my daughter who most absolutely makes me smile all the time; in fact she makes me almost bend in double with laughter!  I always tell her she is a tonic and should be bottled and sold!!

The stem and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink, as is the little flower die and the two buttons on the ribbon.  The button on the flower, the ribbon and the punch I used for the scalloped edge are all Stampin' Up!  I used green washi tape from Angel Crafts to make the little frilled border by attaching it to a length of olive green ribbon.
I am entering this card into the challenge over at The Ribbon Girl, which is to use ribbon or lace.

Thought for the Week
Since we have had this recent baby boom, I thought I'd check what the Bible says about babies.  1 Peter 2:2 says that, like newborn babies, we are to 'desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby'.  All new babies need milk to survive and Peter here is referring to the fact that when we get saved and become new babes in our new faith, then we desperately need to feed on the Word of God so that we can grow and become strong.  We need to learn what God teaches from His Book and we need to read the Bible every day.  A new baby doesn't just take milk every other day or once a week; he or she needs their milk every single day.  In fact we wouldn't even consider not giving them their milk.  It is the same with our faith - we need to read, to learn and to grow!

God bless you this week!
