Gift envelopes

I hope everybody had a good Christmas with family and loved ones. Unfortunately it wasn't a happy time for everyone and I know of two people who lost loved ones over the Christmas period which is a very sad thing to cope with. Thankfully these dear people were saved and ready to go so now they are the ones rejoicing with their Saviour in glory! It's just sad for those who are left behind.

I'd just like to share a small gift card envelope I made for some of my family...of course, they'll be more interested in what's inside!

All products used are Stampin' Up

Thought for the Week - Psalm 71

I've just been reading about king David and his worries about old age. I have to say I understand his fears as I would think along these lines sometimes. How will I cope in old age? Will I have to go into a nursing home? How will I be treated? But I understand that it isn't right for me to think like this, just as David understood this eventually too. Why would The Lord, who has blessed and cared for His saints all throughout their lifetime, suddenly abandon them when they need Him most? God loves His people, no matter what age they are and takes care of them and helps them through times of difficulties. We need to remember that no matter what else happens to us in life, The Lord will never forsake His people.

David came to realise this and his words of fear became words of praise to His Saviour. The words that struck me most from the lips of the psalmist are these, in verse 21, "Thou shalt ... comfort me on every side". How wonderful! My Lord will be beside me, behind me, beneath me, all around me, comforting me with words of love, mercy and grace.

Suddenly, the thought of facing old age with the comfort of an Almighty loving God taking care of me seems much easier to handle.

I pray that The Lord will bless His people wherever you are today, and remember that if you are alone or facing a difficult time in your life, The Lord will comfort you on every side. Talk to Him now and ask Him to ease your fears for the future. If you're not yet saved, and don't have The Lord to turn to for comfort, why not think about putting all your trust in Him and asking Him to forgive and save you? After all, this is why we celebrate Christmas, when the Son of God came into this world, to save the lost sinner. Thank Him for His gift of salvation and accept His redeeming mercy today.

Thank you cards with Colour Q

Hello there folks! I'd like to wish my blogging friends, and non-blogging family, a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and blessed 2014.

I have made a few Thank You cards for some gifts we have received, using retired Stampin' Up stamps Easy Events. These stamps have the image and sentiment in one so they are brilliant for making quick and easy cards.

I used the colour challenge at Colour Q for inspiration and quickly coloured these images with SU! Markers. I've done one in Whisper a White and the other in Very Vanilla.

Christmas mugs and chocolate!

Hello again, friends! Hope you are all well.

Today I'd like to share another project that I have made for the Festive Friday challenge. This is my third and final one.

I have made these cute mugs following the tutorial that Monica gave out over here. They are so quick and easy to make and I think they look great. I made a couple of adjustments to the one Monica did; I did a curved handle instead of a square one and I decorated mine slightly differently but basically they're the same.

I'm entering this one for the theme 'Add a Snowflake'.

I really love the Festive Flurries stamps and matching dies! And that glimmer paper is brilliant!

Merry sparkles

I have a card to share with you today that I made for my wonderful daughter and son-in-law for Christmas.

I love the colours and all the glitz and sparkle in this one and my daughter loved it too!

It's quite hard to see all the bling, but under a good light, it's definitely there! Here's a bit of a close up. Isn't that poinsettia just gorgeous?!

I am entering this as my second card into the Festive Friday challenge (wish I'd seen this at the beginning of the year instead of just now!).

We have to use one of the previous themes from this blog's challenges and this time I am choosing to use the word "merry".

Thanks for popping by today! I'll hopefully have another project for you tomorrow.

And finally...I'm crafting again!

Hello folks! Yay! I'm back to creating colourful cards and other paper projects. I've just finished making the wedding invitations, evening invitations and Orders of Service for a girl I work with and she was thrilled with them! She was so easy to work with, anything I suggested, she was happy with it. In the end it was ME who kept changing things and going for different ideas! But she's happy with the finished result. I can show you the finished cards now because she has sent them out. They are simple and elegant, just like the Bride-to-be. But I have to say I have missed working with colours!
Could you imagine that there are also three little rhinestones on the right hand side on the ribbon? I decided to add them AFTER I took the photo! I'll post the Order of Service sometime after her wedding at the end of December.
Anyway, back to the colour card. I have to say I am so glad I got rid of all my non-Stampin' Up! supplies. I feel less cluttered and more focused with just one company's products to tempt me! The thing I love most about SU! is that everything matches so easily and this makes crafting more fun!
I made this card for the Challenge over at Let's Craft and Create which is to 'Say it with Flowers'. I'm also entering it into Festive Friday (thanks for the heads up on this challenge, Marlou!) using the colour scheme, red, green and gold. My mum loves poinsettias (she just sometimes has a bit of trouble trying to pronounce the word!) and she'll get a card similar to this one but better!

So, here's what I used to make this. Everything is current apart from the Filigree Brad which is now retired. It was silver and I covered it with Versamark and then sprinkled Gold Embossing powder over it, embossed it, burnt my finger and Hey Presto!

Freebie for helping me!

Hello folks! Hope you are well.

Today I'd like to share this little photo frame I made for my daughter to give to her friends for their little girl. I put her name on it and her date of birth and kept it very simple with the little heart and some SU! Rhinestones.

I'm entering this into the Challenge over at Let's Craft and Create, which is to make a CAS project.

I bought loads of these wee frames in Northern Ireland a few years ago for just 75 pence and now I've only 7 left and can't get them anywhere as cheap. If anyone knows where I could buy cheap wooden frames in the UK, I'll send a little gift to the person whose idea I go with!

Also here is the little box I made to put the frame in. I used the beautiful Blushing Bride chevron ribbon from Stampin' Up! - isn't it gorgeous? It's really soft and lovely to work with. I added a tag made from the Chalk Talk stamp set with the matching die.

Thanks for looking today!

Smoky Slate for a man

Hi again!  I'm back with one card only and this one is for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge found here.
I like this challenge because now I am using only SU! products and I can be more focused.
This is Challenge #81 and it is to make a masculine card.  I don't know about you but male cards are not my strong point but I have discovered that SU! have many stamp sets that lend themselves to a more masculine look - I just haven't bought them yet!!!
Now, I know what you're thinking..."there's a heart on that card"!  Yes, but this card is for the only man I would give a heart own dear hubby.  This is to thank him for everything he does for me, which is a lot and he is very special to me.  Of course, he'll not 'oooh and aaah' over this card as I would like but that's because he is a MAN!!
Actually, now that I've photographed the card, I think it could've done with a little dab of another colour somewhere, but ah well, too late now.
Supplies(all Stampin' Up!):
  • Cardstock - Smoky Slate
  • Ink - Smoky Slate, Versa Mark
  • Stamps - Chalk Talk, Serene Silhouettes
  • Dies - Framelits Chalk Talk
  • Accessories - Hung Up Cute Clips, White Embossing Powder

Spoiler alert! Don't look, Marlou!

Hi folks! Today my post is very quick as it's nearly time for our Saturday night Chinese food and I'm pretty hungry!

I made this card for my blogging friend, Marlou, who hasn't been very well lately and I hope this might cheer her up. I've missed seeing her cards on her blog and hope that soon she'll be able to get back to crafting.

I'm also entering this card into a couple of challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches

Fusion Challenge #19 - Pink Power

The colours are Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink (brad). I stamped on vellum paper with my big 'Friendly' background stamp in black Stazon, punched out the vellum with a variety of circle sizes then wiped over the circles with the ink pads. Then I scrunched them up tightly (stabbing myself a couple of times on the sharp edges!) and opened them again. I added a brad inside the now retired silver flower brad. I added a splash or two of ink from 'Gorgeous Grunge' then stamped on the sentiment from 'Hopeful Thoughts' in Rose Red. All popped up on Regal Rose card stock.

I've just placed a Stampin' Up! order for my birthday and was able to get some real bargains in the Clearance Rack. If you're interested, click on the SU! Logo on the top right of my blog which will take you to the online store and then click on 'Products - Clearance Rack' and grab yourself a treat!
