Bloom simply!

Hello again!  For today, I would like to share this very simple card that I made for a friend who gave me a CD of gospel songs.  It was very quick and easy to make.  I am entering it into the CASology Challenge #44 for this week where the cue word is 'BLOOM'.  The little flower is made up from a couple of retired felt pieces I had from years back.

Thought for the Week
Isaiah 35:1,2
So does the Bible have anything to say about the word 'bloom'?  it doesn't excatly use the word 'bloom' but I checked a thesaurus and it gives the word 'blossom' as a synonym.  The Bible talks about the hope and future of the Christian and how the land will blossom as a rose when the redeemed of the Lord enter into the land that He has given them forever.  This is what I love about the Lord!  Even though people blame Him for all the disasters in the world (yet they never seem to give Him the praise when things go well), the Lord has promised a hope and a future for those who accept their own sinfulness and His salvation through faith in Christ.  Man is the one who has helped, down through the generations, to destroy this world that God made in perfection; but in the end, God will restore the land to beauty and perfection for the eternal rest of the believer.
God bless!

Owl congratulations!

Hello there friends and followers!
I have a little card to share with you today that I made for my friend, Vicky (hello you!) who has just been made permanent in her job!  Yay!  So pleased for you!
I am also entering this card into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge #100 which is to use the grid ( 3 squares in a straight line).  I have used the Polka dots (owl's belly), Kraft and Dies or punches (both).  After I had photographed this card, I added a couple of rhinestones to his eyes to make them look glittery but it was too late to re-photograph so please just imagine that!
I'm also entering this into the Dynamic Duos challenge for their One Year Anniversary.  You can choose any two colours from past challenges - mine is Crumb Cake and a personal choice of So Saffron (at least I think that's what the little bird is).
Here's the grid:
And here's the colour choice:
Thanks for looking today!

There's only one you

Hello friends, today's card was made using my new Dies from Stampin' Up! took next to no time to make.  I love the font of the sentiment which was earned during SAB(Vintage Verses).
I am entering this card into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge using the grid below.
I chose to use the top line - Polka dots, Kraft and Dies.  As I said, the dies are SU! (you get the dress form and two dress dies) and I used polka dot Pool Party paper.  I also added a little bit of Pool Party ribbon around the waist of the dress.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Honourable Mention!

Hi again!  I couldn't wait to post this so here I am again for a second time today!  I've just been chosen, along with six others, to receive an 'honourable mention' at CASology! Yay, I'm really pleased and thank you to Tracey, who picked my card.
Just while I'm here, I'll share another card that I just made for the Colour Throwdown Challenge #240
The colours are as below:
I am also entering this into the challenge at Seize The Birthday #16 using the sketch below:
The candles are Stampin' Up! coloured with a blender pen and ink from my SU! pads.
Thanks for visiting me today!

Somewhere, over the rainbow

Hello friends, I hope today is a happy day for you, especially with it being a Bank Holiday here in UK.  The sun is really trying hard to show his face here in Northern Ireland and I think if he persists, we may see him later on this afternoon!
Today's card is for my darling daughter and her hubby as they get ready to head off somewhere over the rainbow!  I just love rainbows because of the significance of them from a loving God to a sinful world.  They always speak of hope and a future, I think.
Today's card is for the challenge over at Addicted to CAS #12 where the inspiring word is RAINBOW. I am also entering it into the challenge at Cute Card Thursday where the phrase to inspire is "Come Fly With Me".

Thanks for stopping by today!

Who cares?

Hello friends.  Today I have a card that I want to share with you for CASology #42 - using the cue word 'care'.  I don't usually post on a Sunday but the cue word immediately brought a verse of comfort to my mind and I wanted to pass it on as there might be someone out there in need of such a word today.
My card was stamped with SU! stamps and, as I don't have an SU! markers, I improvised and used my ink pads and a blender pen to colour the actual stamp before applying to the card.  I was pleased with how the little branch turned out.  And don't you just LOVE these adorable little wooden cutie birds?!
Thought for the Week
I always like to try to use a verse from the Bible that has something to do with the CASology cue word and for this week the word is CARE.  One of my favourite Scripture verses is 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
Isn't it wonderfully comforting to know that when we are burdened down with the cares and worries of this life, we can throw them all over to Christ and He will sustain us through the trials?  It doesn't matter what trial the Christian faces - sickness, pain, grief, sadness, depression, loneliness - the Saviour understands it all and wants us to know how much He loves and cares for us.  Let go of your cares today and let God take control.
God bless you this week.

Lacy For You

Hello folks.  Today's card is for the Challenge at Less Is More, this simple but lovely sketch by Jen.  I have also used the colours for Dynamic Duos (Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride - in my case, Blush Blossom).
I used the lovely First Edition SU! papers to stamp the little flowers onto, and then used my SU! Crystal Effects to bring the flowers to life.  I used my scallop circle punch so that I could also enter this into the challenge over at Stampin' For The Weekend.

Thanks for your visit today.  Come back again soon.
