CASE This Sketch and Colour Throwdown

Hello folks! I have just made a quick card for my special son-in-law (well, actually, he's my only son-in-law, but he's still special) on the occasion of him getting a new job! We are so happy for him.

This card is one that I'm entering into the following two challenges:

CASE This Sketch and Colour Throwdown

The designer papers are the new In Colours from Stampin' Up! and I stamped on the little wooden speech bubble in Rich Razzleberry then clear embossed it.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hopefully I'll have more time to be sociable tomorrow!

Sketches, edges and the sea!

Hello folks.  Am I the only person who is glad to see the cooler weather?  I do love sunny days; anything around 20 degrees is just perfect!  But more than that and I start to wilt!
So today I have three cards to show you.
This first one is a personal favourite because of the colour - I just love this cool Pool Party from Stampin' Up!  I think that, because it is such a gentle and light colour, it goes well with black as it gives it a lift.  (All supplies are from Stampin' Up! except the sentiment).
I am entering this first card into the following challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches (I've just discovered this challenge and I really like the sketches they give)
Let's Craft and Create - fancy edges
Papertake Weekly - use a die or punch
Tuesday Morning Sketches

My second card for today is for the following challenges:

Curtain Call - Feeling Nautical
Papertake Weekly - use a die or punch
Stampin' for the Weekend - Sparkle or Bling
Dynamic Duos - Calypso Coral and Basic Black

My third and final card for today is this one for the following challenges:

Curtain Call - Feeling Nautical
Stampin' for the Weekend - Sparkle or Bling (look closely to see the sparkle!)

Thanks for calling by today!

Same colours, same sketch...

...But probably this card will be classed as 'cleaner' than the other one!

This is my second post of today...scroll down to see the first.

This time I stamped the hexagon shapes onto Crumb Cake card stock using my Chocolate Chip ink pad, cut out a little butterfly from the embossing folder in Summer Starfruit CS then added the sentiment from one of my favourite stamp sets Lots of Thanks. I just hand cut the little banner shape and mounted it and the hexagons using Stampin' Dimensionals.

CAS colours plus CAS(E) sketch

Hi folks. I have two cards to show you today but I have to post them separately because they are both for the same challenges.

I have used the colours for the challenge at CAS Colours and sketches:

I have also used this lovely simple sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

Next post will be up in a minute!

Calypso butterflies

Hello! Hope all is well with you and you are coping with this heat, if you have it. We are just not used to such high temperatures here in Northern Ireland and I have to admit I prefer it to be a bit cooler, although I really do love the long, warm evenings.
Anyway, the card I'd like to show you today is one I made for two challenges:
Dynamic Duos #62 - Calypso Coral and Basic Black with the option of using Butterflies
I covered four pieces of Calypso Coral card stock with some washi tape I had (while I'm waiting on my Stampin' Up! Supply), then ran them through the Big Shot in the SU! butterflies embossing folder. Simple and you can still see the colour of the card stock through the tape.

Love these papers!

Hi there again, folks.
I have a card that I made for a few challenges, using the most gorgeous papers from Stampin' Up!  These have the new In Colours in them, aren't they fab?  They are called Venetian Romance.  I stamped the little frame from Four Frames twice in Crisp Cantaloupe onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out the frame of one and then cut out the oval from the other.  Then I stamped Thank You from Lots of Thanks in Soft Suede, added the Island Indigo ribbon and popped it all up onto foam pads.
I am entering this card into:

Create with Connie and Mary Summer Week 3 - sketch below
Let's Craft and Create - #74 Anything Goes
Sister Act Challenge #15 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Old, New, Borrowed or Blue

Thank you for visiting.

CAS bird

Hello folks!
Today I have a very clean card using some very pretty SU! colours - Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding.  Love these.
I used Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock for my base card and then took Very Vanilla and stamped a little bird frame (Four Frames) in Pistachio Pudding on it then restamped just the bird in Calypso Coral.  I cut the bird out and popped it up on top of the original one using a foam pad.  Then I used the For You Itty Bitty Banner stamps and the matching dies to create the little banner which I also popped up on foam.

Thank you for visiting today.  Hope you have a great week.

Stampin' Up! Online Ordering 24/7

Hi, I'm just popping by to let you know that in a week or two you will be able to order wonderful Stampin' Up!products online, day or night, by clicking here.  You can go on over here and have a look at the fab products and perhaps make out a wish list!  If you can't wait to order online, then just email me or phone me to place an order.
Thank you.

To thoughtful you...

Hi there friends!  I have been having a look through some of my craft items and recently came upon some Stampin' Up! goodies I've had for a few years and never really got to put to good use.  Amongst these I found some 'Planter Box' Rub-Ons, which came in a pack of black and white.  They really are lovely and even though they have been lying in a box for about 4 years, they still work superbly (you see, the quality of SU! never fails!); they rubbed on perfectly and look great.  The embossing folder is also SU! but sadly retired now.
Also, I used to think I couldn't emboss with powder because I made a mess of it (usually by burning the card, or myself!)but that was before I discovered the SU! Embossing Buddy, which gets rid of the static for a clean image or sentiment and SU! embossing powder, which works really well, I'll have to get it in some of the wonderful colours it comes in as well as white!

I am entering today's card into two challenges -
Dynamic Duos: Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand

Freshly Made Sketches #94: sketch below
Thanks for popping by today!  Have a great weekend.

SU! favourite accessories

Hello, folks.  Hope all is well with you today.
Today's post will be short, but also hopefully, sweet!
I made this card for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge which asks us to use one or some of our favourite SU! accessories, current or retired or both.
I used the new hexagon punch with matching stamp set for this as well as a fabric flower (Retired) that I inked up and a flatbacked pearl (retired).

Have a great day!

Well, what do you know?!

Well hello, friends and fellow bloggers!
I can't believe it!  I won a challenge this week at Let's Craft and Create with my little tag, and came in the Top Three in CAS Colours and Sketches with my splats.  Oh, I'm so pleased!
For today, I'd like to show you a card I made for a Stampin' Up! Only Challenge called Create With Connie and Mary.  This is a colour challenge using the new In-Colours 2013-2015 from SU! and you can only use SU! products.  Aren't these colours so clean and refreshing?  I made the flowers up by using some plain white fabric flowers I got from SU! years ago and inking them in the new colours and adding the huge pearl, also a retired SU! product. The stamps I used are:
Lots of Thanks
Bright Blossoms
Four Frames
The papers are all the new In Colours.
I used Crystal Effects on the little stamped flower and vase to make them stand out a bit more.

CCMC Summer Collection 13-005
I am also entering this into the Mojo Monday Challenge #301 using the sketch below:
I'll have another card for Connie and Mary's challenge later tonight or tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting today!

My flesh and my heart...

Hello folks!
Wow, isn't it hot?  But we'll not complain, it's wonderful to have it.
Today's card is one that I'd like to enter into the Challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  This is for #87 where Anything Goes.  The girls at this challenge do give a Scripture verse that we can use but we don't have to.  I used a different verse (from the same blog) for a card that I made for someone in need.  The picture is a bit blurry - sorry about that.

Thanks for visiting today!

Little heart tag

Here I am back again as I said!  I made this little card at the weekend for the challenge over at Let's Craft and Create where my blogging pal, Marlou, is a design team member.  The challenge is to create a tag, so here's mine...sweet and simple.

Thanks for visiting again!

So glad we're here for each other!

Good morning/afternoon, friends!  Finally, Northern Ireland has a taste of beautiful summer weather!  It is so lovely to have heat and sunshine...hope it lasts.
Today's card is another one I made for the CAS-Colours and Sketches Challenge #32.  I don't know if it will be accepted because there may be a limit on the number of entries and I have already entered.  But anyway, I love these three colours together!  I'm also entering this into Lesley's Challenge at Fusion #13 using the sketch as inspiration.
All the stamps, papers, ink and embellishments are Stampin' Up! (just not the base card).

Thought for the Week
Today I'd just like to share a simple thought with you, that the LORD has used recently to bless my heart.  Prayer...I am learning every day that it is so wonderful to have someone who loves and cares for us to pour our hearts out to.  And not only can we talk to our Heavenly Father at any time of the day or night but He is waiting for us to come to Him.  It must be a bit like when you say to someone "Oh I'll give you a ring later" but you get caught up doing something else and don't get round to making the call.  It might not have bothered you, but your friend may have really been looking forward to hearing from you and they may feel a bit disappointed that you didn't call them.  We know deep down in our hearts that it will please the LORD and indeed bless our own heart if we pray, but something else always seems to get in the way.  The next time you hear that little prompt in your heart saying 'Go and talk to the LORD about this' then follow up on that.  Whatever you're doing, nothing is as important as having a talk with your Heavenly Father.
Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great week!

Little birds

Good morning, friends and bloggers and a warm welcome to my three new blogging friends...Kate, Cazza and Groovy Grommit!
Today's card is one I've just made for CAS - Colours and Sketches Challenge #32 where we have to use three of my favourite colours ... Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  Before I went to bed last night, I had a flash of inspiration for a card I just wanted to make, you know, one of those rare moments when you just know exactly what you want to make and are itching to get at it?!  But I needed some colour inspiration and I found it right here at this Challenge.
The stamp is another one of my favourites, "For the Birds", great for colouring or for paper piecing, which is what I did here.  I acually find it quite therapeutic, cutting the tiny pieces out and it is made all the easier with Stampin' Up!'s paper snips.  The papers are all SU Designer papers and I love the way SU! colours all coordinate so perfectly. I coloured the grass using Lucky Limeade Ink and a blender pen. (If you would like to purchase any SU! products, just email me and I'll order them for you to be delivered straight to your door!).
Thanks for popping by today.  Hope you have a good weekend!

Welcome Summer (?)

I's definitely not summer weather here in Northern Ireland!  One minute the sun is out and the next it's raining cats and dogs ☺
Oh well, a good excuse to stay inside and make a card...or two!
So, this card is one I made for not one, not two, but five challenges!  I've never been able to do that before.  I really enjoyed making this card and it came together exactly as planned.  I made it for a friend who is heading off on her first big holiday in years!
So here are the challenges I'm entering this card into:
1. Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
2. Addicted to CAS - Take Flight
3. CAS-ual Fridays - feature at least one arrow
4. Retrosketches #70 - Sketch (see below)
5. Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Thanks for visiting today.

I couldn't resist...

...making another card for this lovely sketch over at Paper Sweeties!  And for someone with a sweet tooth, this is also very apt for me, LOL!
I decided to go for a baby card this time and I'm hoping it'll do for either a boy or a girl or maybe even twins! but I'm kind of leaning more towards it being for a girl since the first item on the line is a dress.  Anyway, I love this new cardstock I got and it's a dream to stamp on even though there is a very slight ribbed effect to it.  Yep, I'm pretty pleased with this effort!
Thanks for visiting today.

Paper Sweeties and Colour Throwdown

Hi again!  The only reason I am posting for a second time today is that the Colour Throwdown challenge #248 is ending soon and I wanted to enter this card.  I found this sketch challenge called Paper Sweeties and liked the sketch so much I had to enter it too!
It's just a simple 'Hello' card.

Colour Throwdown colours are (I don't have Cool Caribbean so I used Pool Party instead):
Thanks for visiting again!

One card...three challenges

Hello folks and here we are, at the start of July.  Where have the past 6 months gone to?  I am off work now for a few days, so in between giving the house a deep clean and other enjoyable(?) activities, I'll be able to get some crafting time in.
Today's card is very simple.  A few ink splats, a sentiment and that's it!  Quick and easy!
I used the inspiration for this card from 3 challenges: Colour Q #195 (using the colours given), One Layer Wednesday (use 'splats and splatters') and the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches #31.
Thanks for stopping by today!
