Guess who's been a busy bee?!

Hello everyone! How is your Saturday going? Well, I have had a very busy week and so I thought I deserved a little treat. A new pair of shoes, you ask? No! A new dress? No! Even better...two hours relaxing in my craft room! I know, some of you are thinking, how sad, but I enjoyed it. I got quite a few cards made, just to have in case of emergencies.

So, here we go. My first card was made using the sketch at Case This Sketch, the theme word 'Birthday' at Casology and a challenge I've never done before called Case-ing the Catty which called for us to use new Designer Series Paper from the current Stampin' Up! catalogue and the Spring/Summer Occasions catalogue (you can see it if you click on the icon at the right of this blog).

The paper I used is my new Painted Blooms along with Painted Petals stamps and the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners. I used the Bitty Banner dies and the Banner Framelits dies. Ink is Rose Red, Wild Wasabi and Blackberry Bliss.
Then I made two more versions of the same card using the same sketch by turning the paper over and using the reverse side. It's amazing how many different cards you can get from one pack of paper.

Then I made these two cards using the same sketch and colours, I just changed the sentiments around. I really like this clean and simple look, although for some reason I find it difficult to pull off!

These are for the sketch at Paper Craft Crew #129 and Colour Throwdown #327, where I used Wisteria Wonder for the purple, Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana and So Saffron. Stamps used were Gorgeous Grunge, Banner Blast and Pictogram Punches.

Thanks for looking today

Another sick friend : (

Today I made another card for a wee friend of mine (well, she's my daughter's friend, but I like her too!!☺). She hasn't been well for a while now and I thought she could do with something to brighten her day. I used two challenges to inspire me for this card, ColourQ #276 and Paper Craft Crew #128. I love this colour combination, some of my most favourite Stampin' Up! colours. The sketch was a bit more detailed than I usually go for but I liked the clean lines and the whole layout of it.

Two cards, Four challenges

Good evening! I've just made a couple of cards for two people who are recovering from surgery and thought they would be perfect for four challenges.

This is my first card, which I have to say I'm quite pleased with. As soon as I saw the colour palette I knew I wanted to make a card with them. The colours are bold, bright and look great together! This card is for Colour Throwdown #326 and Case This Sketch #107. I used the dies from Flower Fair Framelits, the sentiment is from Hopeful Thoughts punched with the Modern Label punch and finished off with some Brights candy dots.

Second card is this one. I'm not dying about the colours for the tulips but I had to get them to fit into the colour challenge! The two challenges here are Colour Me...Subtle #55 and Freshly Made Sketches #170. I used the Love is Kindness stamp, my chevron embossing folder, some twine and the Scallop Tag Topper punch.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I like this sketch..., I've used it again for another card, a Birthday card this time.

This is for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #169.

My friend in work brought me in this lovely wee crochet soap bag that her mum made for me.  Isn't it cute? I put a lovely new bar of soap, that I got from another friend a few weeks ago, into the bag and used it this morning.  It's a great idea because the bag doubles up as an exfoliator.  Great wee gift!  So, to say thanks (she also made me a gift at Christmas), I made this notebook for her. Well, when I say 'made' I mean I bought the plain notebook and covered it with fabric (an idea I saw on Pinterest) and decorated it for her. I'm pleased with how it turned out. The fabric is from Stampin' Up! a couple of years ago.

Thank you for visiting today. See you again soon.

Colour Throwdown meets Freshly Made Sketches

Good afternoon and welcome to my post for today which incorporates two challenges: Freshly Made Sketches #169 and Colour Throwdown #325.

I have made three different cards, all using the same sketch and the same colour scheme.  I was on a roll today!!  Stampin' Up! colours used are: Pool Party, So Saffron, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie.

First up, this one, done in watercolours.

Next, this one.

And finally, this one.  I found this one the hardest because once I had done the sentiment "I think you're lovely", I didn't know where else to go with it until I spotted my bird punch, and here we are!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Crazy blooms!

Hello again and welcome to my post for today.  I have a pretty card to share with you that I made for two challenges:

I've decided that, since my stash of 'emergency' cards was pretty much depleted, it was time to make some more cards and get back into that routine.  So every time I make a card for a challenge from now on, I will make 4 or so of the same card (I'll just not put a sentiment on it and then it'll be ready for any occasion).

I used the Painted Blooms Designer Series paper from the new Spring/Summer Catalogue (click on the picture on the right to see this).  This paper has a matching photopolymer (see-through) stamp set called Painted Petals (love it!).  Cardstock is Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky and Whisper White. Ink is Blackberry Bliss and Pear Pizzazz (I didn't have Wild Wasabi, so I had to improvise).  I use for the sentiment a couple of the words in the new Crazy About You set (check it out, especially as you save 15% if you buy the stamp set and the Hello You Thinlits dies together).  For the Card Concept Challenge I would say this card is Clean and layered...maybe not?

Do you fancy a bargain?  Why not pop over to Stampin' Up!s Clearance Rack? Or have a look at this week's Weekly Deals especially since the very versatile Envelope Punch Board is reduced to £13.46

Thanks for popping by today.

Engagement card

Hi folks, today I'd like to share with you a little watercoloured card I've made for a young couple who've recently got engaged. The stamp is a retired but much loved one that I've had for years, called Easy Events. The designer paper is called Painted Blooms and it will be available to you on 6 January in the new Spring-Summer catalogue. There is a wonderful stamp set that matches this paper called Painted Petals and I've used a couple of the photopolymer stamps on the inside of the card. I think you'll love the new catalogue, the products in it are so lovely, lots of new dies, embossing folders, stamps, etc. The other super thing is that for every £45 you spend you can also get some amazing free items in the new Sale-a-Bration event!

Thank you for popping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Congratulations Honey!

Hello and welcome to my first post of 2015! I have made this card for a couple in our church who have just had a little baby boy who they're calling Noah, so I thought this would be a fitting card for the new arrival!

I'm entering this card into the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday where 'Anything Goes'. The image was watercoloured as I love the softness water colouring gives to a card!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! (Except where stated):

  • Stamp set: Two by Two
  • Ink: Black Staz-on, Hello Honey, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, blender pen
  • Watercolour paper
  • Designer paper
  • Ribbon (free with past Sale-a-Bration)
  • Framelits dies
Thank you for joining me today. If you're interested, I have just started another blog as well as this one called A Place of Rest, where I share with you what I've learned from the Scriptures and encourage you to join me on my spiritual journey.
